New product has been nearly nonexistent at retail stores, but the sneak peeks are still flowing strong! Let’s take a peek at what Matchbox shared with us on their Instagram this week.

It’s always an exciting week when we get some Porsche news, and I know many of us German car lovers have been waiting for this new Taycan wagon. After seeing a prototype at the Gathering and then a pre-production diecast sample a few weeks ago, we now have our first look at the production deco. Overall, I think this looks like a very cool model, even though the fitment around those doors is rough. As usual, the Moving Parts line has me wishing its models had been mainlines…the deep red paint is gorgeous though, and the deco is clean and stock. The headlights are noticeably bigger and more detailed than on the Hot Wheels Taycan, and I think the black 10 spokes are a good fit for the model.

In yet another case where it feels like Hot Wheels and Matchbox are chasing each other, we now have a Matchbox release of the Ford Anglia mere weeks after the Hot Wheels version hit shelves in the Boulevard line. Though it’s certainly not a car I care about, this model’s patina is rather cool. I believe this is expected to be a Harry Potter tie-in, though we haven’t seen its packaging yet.

After making a surprise appearance in a five pack last year, the Citroen DS is back in a truly love-it-or-hate-it shade of green. I don’t mind the color, but I’ve always disliked when metallic bases turn the car’s entire interior chrome.

The Ford Mustang Boss 302 appears in a surprisingly similar shade of polarizing green, and is that a new wheel design I see? It’s hard to tell from these pictures, but I don’t personally recognize these wheels. They look good! Previous versions of this casting did not have rear detailing, so I’m guessing this version will be in the Collectors series. From what little we can see, this looks to be the best version of this casting yet!

I’m ecstatic to see the excellent F-150 Lightning casting returning again after its recent five pack appearance. The matte black looks good (so sinister!) but I’m surprised we still haven’t seen a blue version, as blue seems like a far more iconic color for the car.

This other black car appears to be a Tesla Model X, though it only appears in the background. We’ve already seen a black Model X in the Moving Parts line, but Tesla’s limited color options certainly limit Matchbox’s recolor options.
Outside of the official Matchbox sneaks, we also got our first look at some upcoming models thanks to thunted on Instagram! Highlights here include the new Mercedes 230 SL (which looks a little crushed in its blister) and the new 2023 Toyota GR Supra. I’m excited that Matchbox is giving us the stock Supra deco that Hot Wheels has been unwilling to release, though I’m concerned that the proportions might be a little weird on this casting. The Morgan Plus Four looks awesome though, and I’m excited about that red edition Miata too!
As always the list of upcoming Matchbox models has been updated to reflect all these new sneaks, and be sure to stay tuned because I’ll have full features on some of these models once they finally hit shelves.
